Van Halen - New Album with David Lee.....

This one recorded live in Tokyo..... Van Halen's first new album with David Lee Roth since 1993.....

Here's the whole concert..... Album was release today....

The Disco Biscuits

The name of the band intrigued me, but I have been listening to their soulful electro funk sound all morning now. Good background music for the last day of March.

Forget Psy...Meet South Korea's 'G-Dragon'

SXSW - Young Japan pop rockers

Mahousyoujo-ni-narita   formed in 2014.. now new leaders in the Japanese alternative scene..... they work with artists and projections specialists when writing and recording .. as a prep to what their live show will look like...

I like the all too familiar white face mask... with the red X

They will be playing a few shows at SXSW this year..

International Music Week - Molotov

Since Saint Patty's Day is this week, I'm thinking of sharing all international bands this week.
M is for Monday or Moon Day, or Lunes en espaƱol.
M is also for Molotov in any language.

SXSW is starting this week too. Here is Molotov at SXSW in 2013

L7 Shitlist

NSFW - Wrapping up soundtrack week on Friday the 13th made me think of one of the most disturbing movies of all time for me, Natural Born Killers. Fantastic soundtrack with Leonard Cohen, NIN, Dr. Dre, Bob Dylan, Juliette Lewis, Peter Gabriel, and even Juliette Lewis, but the one that has the most angst reflective of the film is L7's "Shitlist".

I saw these crazy women open for Nirvana in SF in the early 90's. I remember the bassist coming onto stage with her axe-a-blazin'. She propped her foot onto the speaker at the end of the stage and spat a big-ass loogie into the crowd to get the party started.

I sat up and rocked for the next hour.

Nice medley of scenes from the movie too.

Here is the entire soundtrack. NSFW

Angry Inch

Getting back to the soundtrack theme songs.... here is Mr... er uhh..... Miss Headwig and her angry inch

Throw Back Tarantino #TBT

Originally looking just for Esquivel television theme music (Flinstones, Jetsons, Kojak, etc.) I was reminded that Combustible Edison and Juan Esquivel made up all of the Four Rooms soundtrack, which in turn, led me to this groovin' playist of fine Tarantino soundtrack tunes. Enjoy.

In The End...There Can Be Only One

When I think of a single track that defined a movie, one of the first that comes to my mind is this song from the movie Highlander. IMO, Freddie Mercury is one of the greatest frontmen in the history of rock n roll bands, and Queen was one of the first bands to infuse orchestra into their music. Enjoy!

Get the Led OUT !!

Just picked up Led Zeppelin's Deluxe version of I, II,III,IV and Houses of the Holy....

check out this remix of Stairway to Heaven... use headphones if possible ... guitar in the right speaker, flute in the left...  nice spacey echo in the left speaker...   As many times as I've hear this song... when I really listen to it...... it makes me say WHAT THE FUUUU !!!

311 on 3/11 - Soundtrack Hump Day - 50 First Dates

No Oscar for this flick, but a good, humorous love story, but the soundtrack is pretty damn great.

And here is the full Album for your Hump Day / 50 Dates pleasure

Keeping with the soundtracks....

Having the problems with my PC that I did yesterday... I can't help but put this song as my soundtrack entry for the day.... cause. my PC and I...... we were dueling

and.... for those of you out there that still have questions about your PC and how to make it do what you want it to... this sort of sums that up....

Soundtrack Week - St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)

Inspired by the latest series of Rob Lowe - DirecTV commercials.

Nikola Tesla created St. Elmo's Fire in 1899 while testing out a Tesla coil at his laboratory in Colorado Springs. St. Elmo's fire was seen around the coil and was said to have lit up the wings of butterflies with blue halos as they flew around.[21] - Wikipedia

Soundtrack Week - Monday - Miami Vice

I propose a week of Soundtracks, Jay-Strings. Movies, plays, or television. Growing up I had a bunch of soundtracks on vinyl. Been thinking of Don Johnson with his and Melanie Griffith's daughter everywhere with her portrayal in Fifty Shades. Here is a Miami Vice playlist to jump start this Daylight Savings Monday.

Never say Never - Jaxx

Japan influenced...... this one may.. er... uh. CRACK you up.

Never Say Never by Jaxx

Totally Rad...Best 80's Movie Intro

When I was a kid, all I wanted to be when I grew up was a professional freestyle BMX rider, and it was all because of the 200+ times I watched the movie Rad. The funniest part about the movie is that Bart Conner is more famous because of Rad than he is because of his olympic gold medals in gymnastics! The song is Break The Ice by John Farnham, a well known Australian singer/songwriter.

Friends and Freaks

For the brutha from anotha mutha.

" I am delivered... and YOURS !!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JASON !!!!!!!!!

So... Jake's talk about birth and conception led me to CONCEPTION a tribute to Stevie Wonder... which then led me to this... Rumor has it this is what Jason was singing when he popped out.

HAVE A GREAT DAY !!!!

Happy Birthday, Jason!

Reviewing songs with "birthday" in them wasn't satisfying my fever for a good song for Jason's birthday today. So I chose to show something that shouldn't make him feel so old... by showing something commemorating an older birthday (just by five years, but that would mean that SNL would of graduated from high school before you entered it).

This was the number one single the week you were born!

And this, ironically, was the number one single when you were conceived.
